Mollie Chen
Mollie is a counsellor and dance movement therapy practitioner who supports children, rangatahi and adults experiencing trauma, family violence, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties and significant life transitions. She offers therapy in both English and Mandarin.
My Pratice
Mollie brings a warm, collaborative and trauma-informed approach to her work. She recognises that difficult experiences may be held not only in thoughts and words, but also in the body. Her integrative practice draws on person-centred counselling, dance movement therapy, somatic and expressive approaches, therapeutic play, sandtray, narrative therapy, mindfulness and psychoeducation.
As a bilingual practitioner, Mollie has particular experience supporting migrants and people from culturally diverse backgrounds. She understands the challenges migration can bring, including cultural adjustment, shifts in identity and family roles, language barriers, separation from support networks, grief and navigating unfamiliar systems. Her practice respects each client’s cultural values, beliefs, relationships and migration journey.
Mollie tailors therapy to each client’s developmental needs, cultural context, readiness and strengths, with a strong emphasis on emotional and physical safety, choice and empowerment.
